East Timor added to Nurse the Nation

Do you have nursing skills that you could share with a developing nation?

St John of God Health Care seeks three Registered Nurses with experience and expertise in the areas of Accident and Emergency, ICU or Paediatrics who would like to live and work in Timor Leste, for an initial two year term.

An exciting new nursing project, The National Nursing Development
Program has been established, aiming to develop the knowledge, skills and standards of Timorese nurses by placing skilled Australian
and New Zealand nurses in Timor Leste (East Timor).

Opportunity to participate in University Research

Susanne Becker, a nurse currently conducting a research project with the University of Queensland is requesting nurses who have done locum work for rural remote health care facilities to participate in her research project "What are the issues that impact on the recruitment and retention of locum nurses in rural and remote Australia?"

We decided not to wait until retirement to look around Australia. We took a giant leap of faith selling our home and putting our remaining belongings into storage (OK over 40 sq metres!!). With our new four wheel drive "Tillie" the VW Touareg and "Bindi" our Bushtracker caravan, we hit the road.

Nurse the Nation Website proves big hit

Nurse the Nation has attracted extraordinary interest since last month's official launch.

The initiative was created to recruit travelling and holidaying nurses and midwives for short-term employment around Australia and New Zealand.

The Nurse the Nation website has recorded more that 130,000 hits in its first month of operation, with more than 100 nurses and midwives registering their interest.
